About Us

Melidance and fitness bring a new dimension to your workout routine by forming a fusion of fun, exercise and skill into your each class. Our goal is to keep you fit and healthy without boring you to death and teaching you some new skills along the way. Being Mississauga's only dance and fitness studio we have slashed the standard dance prices to fit with the prices of your local fitness club.

All of our classes have a maximum number of students, varying from 10-15, this allows you to maximize your potential by having more personal attention and space. We believe in making each class a fun and friendly environment, however it is our prerogative to help you reach your fitness goals so come to class with your exercise gear on and a large bottle of water you are going to need it. Remember no outdoor shoes on the dance/fitness floor.

Vinyasa Krama Yoga is from where Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is derived, employs the technique of "connecting postures," but is not limited to the six series of postures specific to the Mysore Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system, as outlined by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. "Vinyasa Yoga" connects movement and breath. A difference to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is, that the "asanas" (yoga postures) can be arranged into different sequences that can meet the practitioner's need or mood. In Ashtanga Yoga, the sequences are called series and are not changed.

Power Yoga is a general term used in the West to describe a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa-style yoga. Most power yoga is closely modeled on the Ashtanga style of practice.

Ashtanga yoga is an ancient system of yoga, developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of India. It involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Mayle is a professionally trained latin dancer who has worked in shows across cuba, and germany, while she is a master of latin dance she is also proficient in Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz and more.

    Wendi Pearson -
Yoga

Wendi seeks to help others achieve physical, mental and emotional well-being through the path of yoga. Wendi has completed the hatha yoga teacher training program at Holistic BodyWorx in Mississauga, ON and has studied many styles as a student including gentle, hot, yin, Iyengar, and Sivananda. Julie has been a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer since 2005. Her classes will inspire you to reach your fitness goals. In the past she has worked for Sports Clubs of Canada, Bally’s, Mommy and baby fitness and currently works for The City of Toronto Parks & Rec, Flirty Girl Fitness, The Yorkville Club and of course Melidance & Fitness.
